Friendships Left without Regrets

Often times we wonder about the friendships left behind. Was it the right thing to do? To leave that person wandering about what they did wrong? Or when we tell them and then step away when changes are neglected to be made. Faith can often contradict what we are supposed to do. Do I continue this friendship to help influence them positively in their lives? When do we know that we are being sucked into their vortex of negativity, manipulation, and deceit? When do we realize we are in too deep?

So many questions build up until we experience the last blow. The one that says no more, no more turning my cheek and ignoring this behavior and disrespect. No more allowing you to make me feel inferior. What kind of friendship is that? Friendships are meant to be a partnership to build each other up. When you have reached the point that you are tearing each other apart its time to move on. Let them go and let God take control. It's ok to be alone, to have your thoughts and tranquility.

There are many reasons that people hold on. Fear of loss or starting over, misunderstanding your faith, and many more. Why do people fear loneliness? Are they afraid of their own company? Are we ever truly alone? I belive we are not alone, we may isolate ourselves, our heart, and thoughts but everyone has someone to confide in. I've come to understand that letting go is often the best thing to do. Nothing tangible in this life is forever. To be honest if those friendships were true then one day we will make a full circle, see each other again with forgiveness and understanding.

Do not wish anything bad on them but blessings on their journey and continue yours. Learn to forgive and let go. It only damages your spirit to hold on to anger and hurt. As you continue your journey never allow those passed hurt to build a wall on new friendships! Embrace today & the people in your life whether they are new or old. Everyone teaches you something new just as you bring something of value to others.

  1. I can relate. At times, there are certain friendships that are definitely best left in your rear-view mirror.
